Safety Rules and Cancellation Policy
Please absolutely take the time to read, understand, and consent to the following rules.
Before getting started:
1. Participants must be able to swim proficiently.
2. Participants must be 6 years or older.
3. Participants of the ropes course must be taller than 4 feet and can weigh up to 260 lbs.
4. Participants must not be pregnant, injured or have any pre-existing medical conditions.
5. Participants must remove all kinds of jewelry such as, but not limited to, necklaces, earrings, rings, piercings, bands, (smart)watches, and (sun)glasses (if possible). These objects can cause injury or break.
6. Charleston Aqua Park is not responsible for the loss or damage of any personal items.
7. Participants must always wear a fitting life jacket. It must be buckled up and zipped up.
8. Participants of the ropes course must wear closed shoes.
9. Participants must not be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
10. Participants must register, accept the terms & conditions, sign and validate the release of liability, wear a wristband, and attend our safety briefing.
11. Participants should wear sunscreen and/or sun protective clothing.
12. Participants must be at least 18 years or older to sign their own release of liability. For participants 17 and younger, a legal guardian aged 18 years or older must sign, and should be present during check-in. Please do not forget to bring a valid ID.
13. Participants 16 and under are not allowed to be left on site unsupervised.
14. Please park your car only in the designated parking area.
15. Please bring something to drink with you. We want to make sure that you stay hydrated during your stay. We have non-alcoholic beverages on sale.
16. Our lifeguards on duty only supervise the aqua park and the ropes course.
17. Swimming is only allowed in designated beaches and at your own risk. Participants must wear a life jacket while in the water, even in shallow water.
18. Be a nice person. Participants should not swear or use profane expressions in front of children, other customers or our staff members.
19. Please leave any pets and other animals at home (including your dogs).
20. BBQs, fires, and loud music are prohibited on our premises.
21. Carrying any form of weapons, including concealed or openly carried firearms, is strictly prohibited within the premises of Charleston Aqua Park. This policy is enforced to ensure a safe environment for all visitors and staff.
Safety Briefing Rules:
22. Participants may only attend the safety briefing if their session starts within the next 20 minutes.
23. Participants who are late for a safety briefing must wait for the next safety briefing to start to ensure they receive the necessary safety information before engaging in activities
24. Participants must pay attention to the safety instructions.
25. Participants should ask questions if they do not understand or have difficulty hearing the safety instructions.
26. Understand the whistle signals:
* 1 whistle blow: To warn a participant that they are doing something they should not be doing.
* 2 whistle blows: The session is over.
* 3 whistle blows: In a case of emergency, all participants must stop, sit down, and wait for further instructions.
Ropes Course Safety Rules:
27. Participants must only use the course in the presence of a lifeguard.
28. Participants must only use the course during official hours.
29. Participants must not use the course in darkness or when there is lightning or thunder.
30. Participants needing assistance at any time must call one of our lifeguards for help.
31. Participants must use the ropes course responsibly to ensure they do not injure themselves or others.
32. Participants who endanger their own safety or that of other participants will be expelled by our lifeguards.
33. Each feature has a difficulty level color:
* Light blue: easy
* Dark blue: medium
* Red sticker: hard
34. A maximum of two participants may be on a platform at the same time.
35. There may be no more than one participant on a climbing element. Never jump onto other participants.
36. Climbing elements may not be used if there is a person underneath in the fall zone.
37. Participants must stop moving immediately if another participant swims under them while on a climbing element, to prevent accidental falls or injuries.
38. Participants must avoid swimming under others on climbing elements unless those above have stopped moving, to ensure safety and prevent injuries.
39. Participants must not jump for ropes or cables which they cannot reach.
40. Participants should relax and not fight a fall if they think they are going to fall, dropping into the water where the life jacket will return them to the surface.
41. Participants who fall into the water must put your hand in the air to let the instructor know that they are alright.
42. Participants must exit only through the official exit, not through the shoreline, and keep out of the weeds and slippery rock area of the shoreline to avoid the risk of injury.
43. Top tips:
* Participants who feel that they are going to lose balance or fall, should look at a spot in the water below them, jump in a controlled manner and let go of everything.
* Participants must not jump for ropes or cables that they cannot reach.
* Participants should try to keep three points of contact and keep their arms high.
Aqua Park Safety Rules:
44. Participants must only use the park in the presence of a lifeguard.
45. Participants must only use the park during official hours.
46. Participants must not use the park in darkness or when there is lightning or thunder.
47. Participants needing assistance at any time must call one of our lifeguards for help.
48. Participants must never dive underneath any of the features.
49. Participants must use the aqua park responsibly to ensure they do not injure themselves or others.
50. Participants must never jump onto other participants.
51. Only one person must slide/jump at the same time. No flipping!
52. Participants must only slide/jump when the safety area is free of participants and always slide with feet first, moving out of the landing area immediately.
53. Participants who endanger their own safety or that of other participants will be expelled by our lifeguards.
54. Participants must exit only through the official exit, not the shoreline, and keep out of the weeds and slippery rock area on the shoreline to avoid the risk of injury.
Wakeboard Cable Safety Rules:
55. Participants must only use the cable in the presence of an operator.
56. Participants must only use the cable during official operating hours.
57. Participants must not use the cable in darkness, or when there is lightning or thunder.
58. Participants must be in good health and have no pre-existing medical conditions that impair their ability to participate in this high-risk sport. In case of emergency, participants should call 911.
59. Participants needing assistance at any time must call one of our cable operators or lifeguards for help.
60. Participants must use the wakeboard cable responsibly to ensure they do not injure themselves or others.
61. Participants who endanger their own safety or that of other participants will be expelled by our lifeguards.
62. Participants must inform the staff if it is their first time and if they would like assistance.
63. Participants must hold the handle with their hands and never put the handle between their legs, around their neck, or through their arm.
64. If participants fall into the water, they must signal they are alright by putting their hand in the air, then swim to the area below the running cable to wait for the rope and handle to return.
65. When the rope and handle return, participants must grasp the handle (not any part of the rope), ensuring the rope is not wrapped around any part of their body or equipment.
66. Participants ready to be pulled must raise the handle above their head and hold still for three seconds to signal to the operator.
67. No whipping out or unsafe riding will be allowed.
68. Participants must look out for fallen riders or other obstacles to avoid collision. If feeling out of control, participants must let go of the handle immediately.
69. If the cable stops, participants must let go of the handle and await instructions from the operator.
70. Participants must finish their turn by returning close to the starting area and exit only through the official exit, avoiding the shoreline's weeds and slippery rocks.
Wakeboard Water Feature Safety Rules
71. Water features are intended for experienced riders only.
72. Participants must inspect features before using.
73. The park is not responsible for damage to boards or bodies as a result of using features.
74. No fins are allowed on features.
75. Participants must not attempt to hit a feature if a fallen rider is near it and always scope out landing.
76. Only designated rental boards are allowed on features.
Cancellation policy:
77. Sessions can be refunded with a 25% cancellation fee until up to 24 hours before the beginning of the session. Example: Your session is on August 2nd at 02:00pm, you can cancel with a 25% fee, up until August 1st 01:59pm.
78. Any session canceled within 24 hours of the session as well as no-shows, or partial no-shows, will NOT be refunded. This includes birthday parties. Example: If you booked for 15 participants, and the day of the session you are only 10 people, you will not receive any refund for the 5 participants that did not join.
79. If your session is impacted by weather, we do not offer credit card refunds. However, we do offer a refund to your prepaid account.
80. Refunds are paid out onto your prepaid account.There are no credit card refunds, no exceptions. Prepaid credits stay valid indefinitely.
NIIRRO LLC operating as Charleston Aqua Park and its employees cannot be held responsible for any accidents that occur due to improper use of the aqua park and the ropes course or by not following the safety rules above.
